About Maya

Coming from a culturally diverse background, I have always been an advocate for women empowerment. I've built a successful career in investment consulting internationally over a span of 16 years. I also trained, mentored, and coached multiple teams leading to a dynamic healthy working environment.
As a working mother, I've intimately felt the challenges faced by women, especially in the world of finance. Driven by my unwavering passion to empower, I made the leap from the corporate world to entrepreneurship. My mission is clear: to harness my wealth of experience to champion the lives, careers and financial futures of women, fostering a more diverse and inclusive landscape..
My lived experience is complemented with my academic and professional achievements; I am a CFA Charterholder, an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and hold an MBA. I am a member of the CFA Society and the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Toronto chapter.
Beyond the professional realm, my greatest joys reside within the warmth of my family – my daughter, Julia, my son, Ziyad, and our beloved Labrador, Bella. Known for my adept communication skills, I'm also an empath, deeply connected to both people and nature. The foundation of resilience and determination was laid early in my life when my family sought refuge from a war-torn country. Years later, a scholarship would become my gateway to graduate education. At the age of 25, overcoming cancer imparted a fresh perspective on life, echoing Albert Einstein's wisdom: 'Life is like a bicycle. To maintain your balance, you must keep moving.' And move forward I did, embarking on a new chapter in Canada, earning my CFA Charter, forging a path within Toronto's investment industry, owning my first house, and embracing the serene city of Oakville as my home.
